The iconic Century House celebrated 65 years and sharing over 500,000 meals with the Regional Food Bank last Friday. The celebration included one hundred guests, great appetizers, champagne and fond memories. Tables commemorating the six decades the Century House spanned were sprinkled about the room, and with it, nostalgia, era-themed foods and memorabilia.
As you entered the ballroom, your eyes gravitated first to the tables loaded with artifacts from that time and era-appropriate appetizers. Then, you noticed the staff, many of which, wore clothes from their respective tables and then lastly you felt the energy of celebration in the air. The consensus was mutual: the food was amazing. From the sliders to the chocolate chipotle rubbed short ribs, the Century House did not disappoint with their small plates.
Music, laughter, and chatter created a soundtrack to a fun evening and a home video played in the background. Guests enjoyed complimentary champagne, a variety of beer tasting and miniature Bloody Mary’s paired with their corresponding food sampling. Managing partner Colin Demers and general manager, Kimberly Baker chatted up guests and carried on the overall etiquette and splendor that the Century House is known for.
